Founded in 2012, Build America Mutual Assurance Company (BAM) had the unique opportunity to start with a clean slate while handpicking an ECM system. The company knew they wanted a system that improved overall workflow process while allowing employees to share, store and manage content intuitively. At the same time, it was critical that the solution they chose could be hosted on Amazon Web Services, was easy to manage with limited resources and integrated with BAM’s internal deal tracking software.
After evaluating several options, BAM chose Micro Strategies to implement Alfresco in the Cloud and integrate it with the company’s internal deal tracking software.
Today, the company has over 150,000 documents stored within Alfresco and BAM employees can find the information they need when they need it. When a new transaction or deal is created, a site is automatically created with the appropriate folder structure and security access in Alfresco. The automated site creation provides a central location where BAM employees can easily share documents from the moment a deal gets started. Automated workflows such as notifications to the credit committee to vote on transactions have improved BAM’s credit approval voting process.
