Kelly O’Neill is responsible for leading Micro Strategies’ financial operations. As the Vice President, Finance, Kelly oversees day-to-day financial activities, quarterly and annual accounting for Micro Strategies and its subsidiaries, and collaborates with the CEO and leadership team to develop strategies that enhance the company’s financial health.
A seasoned financial professional, Kelly has a rich history at Micro Strategies, one that is marked by adaptability, perseverance and a deep commitment to fostering growth within the company. Her journey at Micro Strategies started over 30 years ago when she met Anthony Bongiovanni through a mutual acquaintance. This encounter led to Kelly joining the Micro Strategies team, where she has since played a pivotal role in the company’s growth.
Kelly’s career at Micro Strategies started at a time when the company was a team of ten people. Initially, she managed all aspects of accounting and payroll. She later took on responsibilities for office operations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including the construction of the company’s headquarters at the time in Denville, NJ in 2009.
In 2010, her role within the organization again expanded to include the management of the newly created Customer Solutions Administration (CSA) department, further contributing to the company’s growth. During her tenure at the company, Kellys perseverance, leadership and adaptability have earned her multiple peer awards.
Today, Kelly oversees the finance team responsible for the global financial operations of Micro Strategies, Resource 1, BSP Software, IPDigital and Bongiovanni Racing. In addition to her financial oversight, she collaborates closely with the head of the CSA department, oversees the Administrative department, and is responsible for the company’s corporate real estate holdings.
An important lesson I’ve learned during my career is to never give up. There will be growth and challenges, but these experiences are essential for personal and professional development. Embracing these moments helps you build resilience, adapt to change, and ultimately succeed in your role.
A defining moment in my career was joining Micro Strategies. The world was very different then, and we lacked many of the capabilities we have today. The company was growing rapidly, and I had to learn on the job, where every day brought new opportunities and challenges. Anthony’s faith in my abilities was crucial. As the company expanded, so did my responsibilities, requiring continuous adaptation and learning. This experience shaped who I am today and taught me the importance of resilience and adaptability.
In my personal time, I like spending time with my family, traveling, and socializing with friends. I also hold a real estate license and enjoy working in that field on the side.
My favorite part of Micro Strategies’ culture is the strong sense of family. Over the years, even as people have come and gone, the close-knit, team-oriented atmosphere has remained constant. This sense of unity and support stems from Anthony, our CEO and founder, whose values and leadership continue to shape our company.
