In the early 1980s, Anthony saw the rising popularity of personal computers and seized the opportunity to meet the resulting demand for custom software. Leaving his career in mechanical engineering, he founded Micro Strategies in 1983. The company initially focused on developing custom business applications that provided customers with enhanced efficiencies. As client demands increased, Micro Strategies aligned itself with industry leaders like IBM, enabling the company to empower customers to leverage technology for business outcomes.
